Our mission is to demonstrate affordable, reliable and environmentally responsible reverse osmosis desalination technologies and to provide a platform by which cutting edge technologies can be tested and measured for their ability to reduce the overall cost of the SWRO treatment process.

The graph below compares results from the ADC I - 2006 demonstration against the energy consumption of other sources of water for Southern California.   Using a net present value model to predict a most affordable operating point from a range of operating data, the ADC demonstrated SWRO energy consumption at around 7.7 kW-hr/kgal.  At that time, this was an approximate 45% reduction over what many experts were predicting was possible for desalination in Southern California.  Now our data and figures are the base line being used to plan for projects such as West Basin Municipal Water District’s 20 MGD ocean desalination facility and our results demonstrate that SWRO can be competitive with other traditional sources of water in Southern California
